Summary
Sooke hunter Leonard Jones, who became lost near Leechtown on the Sunday when trapped by fog, walked out of the woods safely early the previous day. Jones and Ron McCauley, also of Sooke, had separated on the Sunday morning with an agreement to meet later; when Jones did not return by 4 p.m. a five-hour search began. Jones had shot a deer and was cleaning it when fog closed in; an experienced hunter, he settled down to wait, and walked out in the morning.

Archivist's note
One of the small, clean pre-formation search accounts: a five-hour search organized on the same day the hunter failed to appear. As with the other 1950s and 1960s items, no search organization is named.
