Archivist's note
The filename calls this a Sooke-area search that failed, but the item as printed is a short police brief about an unidentified lifejacket, not an account of a ground search. It is the only marine-oriented item in the pre-formation set and the only one that names RCAF search and rescue. Worth keeping for the record of what did and did not trigger a search in 1962.
