Summary

An elderly man who was the object of a search in the Sooke area might be attempting to return to his former home in Campbell River, Sooke RCMP said, after a party of about 20 Sooke residents and police searched the bush and mudflats in Sooke without result. The Sooke detachment notified Campbell River RCMP on the Friday evening to investigate in the hope the missing man might be found up-island. The missing man was named as Waldo Adamson, 63, who had been living with relatives in Sooke since April, and who left his home near the Sooke RCMP detachment office at about 5:20 p.m. on the Thursday to go for a walk.
