Archivist's note

The only article in the archive in which an RCMP emergency response team works under the direction of the Juan de Fuca search manager - a clear statement of who holds operational command of a ground search in British Columbia. The Fairy Creek watershed setting also places the team at the far western end of its response area during the period of the Fairy Creek logging protests.
